Little changes can make a big difference - that's the philosophy behind our new Design Consultation Service. Don't believe me? Check out the before and after views of All About Requirements, displayed above.

A few years ago, John did a Blog Tune-Up with us. We made a great banner for him, and set up many useful features on his blog. Recently, however, John wanted to optimize his design and he purchased a Design Consultation Service.

We used the banner as the foundation and we made changes to the fonts and colors, restyled the navigation bar, and widened the columns to give more space for his posts. Then we added a fancy touch with the ribbon for the date header. Now the whole design flows together. John was thrilled and told us, "For the first time ever, I feel I have a professional-looking site of my own!"

Introducing the Advanced Tune-Up Services

We're pleased to announce the launch of our new Advanced Tune-Up Services. There are two Advanced Tune-Ups, the Design Consultation and the SEO Service. We've had a great response to our basic Tune-Up Service from customers, but many of you mentioned that you would be interested in getting additional help with optimzing your blog designs and with SEO. In response to this feedback, we created these two new services.

Both the Design Consultation and the SEO Service build on the work that was done during the basic Blog Tune-Up, and we recommend either of these Advanced Tune-Ups for customers who have already done a Tune-Up Service or who have implemented the recommendations of the Tune-Up on their own. Not sure if an Advanced Tune-Up is right for you? Contact us and we'll give your blog a quick review and let you know.

We're very excited about the Design Consultation and the SEO Service and we think you will be too. Learn more then sign up today!

The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind

Et-tbwhtw

This week's featured TypePad design is something special. William Kamkwamba is a young man from Malawi who had been forced to drop out of school because of poverty. He educated himself through reading books from the community library and built a windmill to bring cheap, clean energy to his family. Since then he has built several other projects for his community, returned to school through the generosity of donors, written a book telling his story, and come to the U.S. to go to college. A couple of years ago, the TypePad blog services team created a striking new design for his blog. Recently, with the release of William's children's book, we updated the design and gave the blog a quick tune-up.

Please visit William's blog, The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind, to learn more about his inspiring story, and consider giving to the Moving Windmills Project to help support development in Malawi.

And if you have a project you want to showcase, or just a great idea for a blog, and are looking for help creating a unique, personal design, get in touch with us and we can help you turn your ideas into reality.
