Weekend Tips: CSS for your blog
June 04, 2011
We've discussed the Custom CSS feature before, and that's because it's one of the best ways to customize your blog to look the way you want. Because of that, we've decided to compile a quick list of great CSS tips you can find in the Knowledge Base.
- Ever wanted to know how to add a background image to the body of your design? You can do so by reading the "Adding Background Images" article.
- Are the columns of your blog not wide enough to show your photographs or widgets? Then you'll definitely want to read the "Customizing Column Widths" article.
- Do you have an advertisement, a search bar, or a set of links, that you want to display above your blog's banner? If so, then "Displaying Content Above the Banner" is the article for you.
- Like a pre-defined theme, but want to customize it with your own banner image? "Adding a Banner to a Pre-Defined Theme" is the article for you.
- Need even more tips for your banner? Need to know how to center it or remove the padding? Try "Using Custom CSS to Center Banner and Other Banner Tips" for more great tips.
- The horizontal navigation bar is a great tool for displaying important links, but what if you want it to stand out more? Review "Styling the Navigation Bar" to find out how to make that happen.
- For further customization, you may want to consider setting a default font for your posts and pages. Interested in learning how? Take a look at "Customizing the Default Post Font with CSS" for more information.
We hope this gives you plenty to read and learn. We'll be back with more great tips and weekend projects, so definitely keep checking the blog!
