As an extension of Technorati's State of the Blogosphere 2011 study, Technorati Media is releasing a new web series, Igniting Social Media. These interviews will showcase industry experts discussing social media trends and features from major blogging platforms, tools, start-ups, brands and agencies while providing insight on how social media impacts our ecosystem today and how it will continue to evolve.
This week, Technorati CEO Shani Higgins sat down with TypePad's own Jeff Reine to talk about blogging trends, audience building and revenue, TypePad's role in the blogging ecosystem, and much more. You can check out the piece on Technoriati here, but we've included the full interview for you to watch below. Enjoy!

We'd love to know what you think! Let us know in the comments.
Video doesn't play on the iPad (but audio comes through). Only listened to the part about Digg and Reddit, but personally I don't see either of those. We get more referrals from Facebook, Google, and Bing.

I enjoyed the interview and look forward to more of the same....
I am teaching a class for small business owners on social media and it is a moving, slippery target. Just when you think you've got it mastered - whoops! something changes. Recommend bloglines and next thing you know it doesn't show up as a choice when subscribing to a blog... the hot reader is Google Reader (or whatever). Very challenging to teach the already busy, traditional storefront small business owner how best to launch into social media.
