Update on Recent Typepad Downtime
March 05, 2014
Typepad strives to make sure we have 100% uptime year round. Sometimes circumstances beyond our control prevent us from achieving that goal. On Wednesday from approximately 1:15 to 3:45PM Pacific Time, we experienced downtime which prevented the Typepad application and blogs from loading, and we are truly sorry about that.
The downtime was due to a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack on Say Media which impacted not only Typepad but other sites around the internet. (Say Media currently hosts Typepad blogs.)
Your team at Typepad and Say Media were immediately working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. We are also taking steps to prevent any future occurrences. We are sorry if you were impacted in any way by this issue.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please reach out to us by opening a help ticket, posting a comment, or emailing us at [email protected]
Problems continue. I've been trying to compose a post, only to have the site crash and lose the post even though I've been saving. Very frustrating to say the least. Will bag it and try again tomorrow.

Downtime was timed right for when I had free time to work on the websites. Went back to work at 11pm to get work done and the site went down again at exactly Midnight (EST) and it's still messed up. This is not a good situation. What's going on?

Thanks for the update. Must have been a frantic time for you all. I was lucky in that the time zone (UK) suited me, but my sympathies to all those others affected.
