Amy has been drawing and writing since she was little and was always a "see it, do it" type of person, always trying new crafts.  She began sewing as an adult and started her shop, nanaCompany on Etsy in 2007 where she sells embroidery patterns and has been featured in many craft publications. Check out her Pinterest for some handmade inspiration.

Third Party Services: the Wrap Up

image from everything.typepad.com

We have recently covered several third party services that you can use with your Typepad blog, improving both engagement and content. There are a vast amount to choose from, but here we share a launching pad of services to help boost your blog.

SurveyMonkey is a great tool for encouraging and guiding feedback that you'd like to receive from your readers. We have all you need to know to get started in our post on polling your readers.

If This, Then That is one of our favorite services to share with users. It allows for so much that it's difficult to focus on only one aspect. To get you started, we discuss connecting your blog to IFTTT and setting up some basic recipes to lighten the social media load.

Instansive is a service we recommend to users who are big on sharing visuals. It has multiple options for sharing Instagram photos in blog sidebars, and is responsive. A perfect fit to go with your responsive Nimble Design Lab blog.

MailChimp is a well-known service to those who use newsletters, and it works great with Typepad feeds as a source. Expand your reach and engage your readers by offering them emailed updates of your content.

These are just some of the services available that we can't get enough of, and may be of interest to you. If you have favorites of your own, please share in the comments!

Rolling Out of Beta: A New Compose Experience and Upgrading Authors

We're so excited today and not just because of the new Star Wars! We've now rolled the new Compose experience and upgraded authors out to 100% of our subscribers, so now everyone should see these features!

The new Compose gives you an updated version of the editor that you're already familiar with, but with improved features like a better restore content feature and the ability to easily add tables to your posts.  These new changes should make creating posts on Typepad easier and more enjoyable.

As always, our Knowledge Base has more information on this particular topic.

Finally, the upgraded authors feature is also available for everyone to use.  This gives you the abilities to create Author Archives (which are also added to your sitemap) and change the authors on posts.  It's easy to enable the Author Archives at Settings > Feeds.  You can see the option to change the authors either on the Compose Page itself or on the Posts tab.  We have more information on this in the Knowledge Base here and here.

Author_archivesThe year may be coming to a close, but we're still hard at work at Typepad creating new features and improving old ones to make your experience with us the best one possible.  Is there something you'd like to see in 2016?  Feel free to leave a comment here or open a new ticket and we'll see what we can do to make that happen!

New to Beta: Image Editor Upgrades Plus a New WordPress Import for Everyone

The new year is almost here, and while that means enjoying a little down time for some folks, we're still hard at work here at Typepad! Today we've got two new features to announce, one for our Beta Team members and one for all our users!

First of all, for our Beta Team, we've updated the image editor.  It now uses a newer version of the same program that you know and love, so you won't see many new changes, though there's now an option to add an overlay or even make a meme of your photo!  You will see better performance in general which is just another one of our updates to improve the Compose experience.

Finally, for our new subscribers coming in from WordPress, you can now import multiple authors in with your import.  Each author will have a guest account created for them and their posts will be assigned to that account.  This should make it easier for people with multiple authors to continue their blog in their new home with minimal fuss. You can learn more in our Knowledge Base.

We're working on even more exciting features to round out this year and to take us into the next one! (Hint: Ever wanted to have more password options on your blog?)  Feel free to leave a comment and let us know what you'd like to see Santa leave you under the Typepad tree!
